POWER CONNECTORS FOR TAIT TM8000 SERIES

We have recently added to the Tait power connector range for the Tait Tm8000 series radio’s, the new power cords are rated at 20 amp with suitable cable for heavy due use. The cable connections are both crimped and soldered for a better mechanical and electrical connection.

The standard 10 amp versions are still available

ADHESIVE MIC PADS

These instructions are for the best use of the CB adhesive microphones and tips on how to apply the pads correctly. The CB adhesive mic holder is designed for light weight cb microphones and not heavy weight PMR microphones, however I have seen them used for both. Below are tips on how to prepare the surface and apply the holder.

DO’S AND DONT’S – WITH THE ADHESIVE MIC CLIP

The Plastic Mic clip comes with a two-sided peal back sticky pad, this works well if used and applied correctly.

1. The pad does not work well when applied in cold conditions or to cold surfaces, we recommend the temperature of the surfaces be maintained above 15 Celsius.
2. The surface that it is to be applied to must be clean.
3. Once applied to the surface the pad should not be moved
4. Leave before use for about 24 hrs for the glue to cure in a warm condition
5. The surface that the pad is being applied to must be solid, either metal or plastic, not foam backed.
6. When applying keep your fingers off the pads at all times.

APPLICATION
Select an area that is easy to get to, make sure the surface is solid, not foam backed as this moves.
Clean any polish, oil, dirt or grease. An abrasive clean dry rough surface is best. We use Methylated spirits to wipe clean & allow to dry.

COLD WEATHER INSTRUCTIONS:
When indoors at room temperature apply one side of the adhesive pad to the Mic clip and leave. Go out to the car and start the engine and warm the car up so the interior is hot (15 mins). Just before you are going to apply it, put the other side of the pad against the hot air vent and heat this up, this will allow the cellophane to be pulled off easier, then apply hopefully this will help.

(The glue doesn’t like cold temperature)
Apply the pad to the surface, making sure your fingers aren’t touching the glue on the pad (I know it’s difficult?)

You may need to leave it up for 24 hrs. To allow the glue to cure. They don’t like being moved once stuck on.
FOR THOSE THAT BOUGHT THE EXTRA PAD AND SCREW
IF THIS FAILS:
Do exactly the same with the second pad supplied (different manufacturer)
IF THIS FAILS:
We have enclosed a self tapping screw, drill a 4mm approx. hole in the back of the mic clip, to allow the screw to go through, (clearance) then drill the dash board with a 3mm drill and secure the clip.
